Edgewater Football: A Decade of Determination Pays Off
Edgewater High School Football is proud to announce that we've been recognized as one of the Top 20 Most Dominant Florida High School Football Programs of the Last Decade. The prestigious recognition comes from none other than MaxPreps, the authority in high school sports news and rankings.
This distinction reflects a decade of hard work, dedication, and sheer grit by our players, coaches, and supporting staff. Through the lows and the highs, each person connected with Edgewater football has been instrumental in achieving this milestone.
For a significant part of the early decade, Edgewater football had its struggles. From 2013 to 2016, it was a period of rebuilding, a time of growing pains. However, the arrival of Coach Cameron Duke marked a turn of the tides. With his leadership, commitment, and vision, Edgewater Football made a remarkable turnaround.
Since stepping on campus, Coach Duke has built a program that breathes resilience, fosters unity, and champions hard work. The result? Edgewater made it to the state runner-up positions in both 2019 and 2020 and consistently placed among the Top 25 in the state from 2018 through 2022. We were unstoppable, growing stronger and better each year, and finally clinched the top 20 spot for the most dominant Florida high school football programs of the decade.
We have great players, coaches, fans and the best community in the state. I'm so proud of the growth of our players on the field but more importantly off the field. "NOW" is our theme headed into 2023 and we plan to continue to take the steps to build our entire program and make our community proud.
Indeed, the heart and soul of Edgewater football lie in the unwavering dedication of our players and the unfaltering support of our fans. To be recognized among the top high school football programs is a significant achievement that belongs to each one of us—our talented players who gave their all on the field, our supportive fans who stood by us no matter the outcome, and our committed coaching staff who never stopped believing in the potential of Edgewater Football.
